Hine

The House of Hine – independent and family-owned, dating back to 1763 - was founded on the banks of the Charente River in Jarnac by young Englishman Thomas Hine who had travelled to France at the height of the Revolution.

He joined a cognac firm, married the owner’s daughter, became a director of the company and it eventually took his name. Today its cognacs draw from two Premier Crus – Grand Champagne and Petite Champagne.

Since 1962, the House of Hine has been the official supplier to the British Royal Family.

It is the only cognac brand to be granted the honour, renewed every five years since, thanks to its dedication to high quality artisanal production.
